Hermitage Tech. Center conducts employment preparation program

Jan Budryk, librarian at Hermitage and Highland Springs Technical Centers, recently ran an employment preparation program for students in the Webpage Design & Programming class at the Hermitage Technical Center.  She did an in-class presentation on writing resumes and preparing for interviews, then arranged for each student to undergo mock interviews.  With Hermitage High School librarians Anita Tarbox and Alison Timm graciously providing space for the program, each student was rated on their interview skills, including: dress, confidence, eye contact, and answers to questions.  The students were interviewed and rated by: Ms. Budryk; Fahryka Elliot, Education Specialist for Business; Robin Lewis, CTE Testing Coordinator; and Phyllis Brown, Instructional Assitant for Exceptional Education at Hermitage Technical Center.  The intent of the program is to prepare the students for future interviews in the working world.  The program is run several times throughout the year with other classes at the Hermitage and Highland Springs Technical Centers.  Click on the school names to learn more about the Hermitage and Highland Springs Technical Center Libraries.
