Henrico County Public Schools are seeking donations of new or gently used, age-appropriate books and magazines to support literacy and the “Reading and Writing Across the Curriculum Challenge.” As part of this challenge, HCPS is asking its middle and high school students to read 30,000 books during the 2016-2017 school year. HCPS will have Drop Everything And Read time in the classroom, and these donations will contribute to that.

The RAWAC challenge and DEAR are designed to increase reading and writing across the curriculum, in courses
ranging from English and history to art and health. Students will log their books electronically.
